Title: The DataFEWSion Traineeship for Innovations at the Nexus of Food Production, Renewable Energy and Water Quality.

Abstract: This project’s theme is systems modeling and data analytics for innovations at the nexus of food, energy and water (FEW) systems.  Its goals are to foster interdisciplinary research based on data-intensive methods; educate STEM graduate students for a range of careers employing data-driven modeling at the FEW nexus; and prepare them to work in multidisciplinary teams while communicating effectively with stakeholders.  While conducting research applying data science and decision modeling to agricultural technologies and practices, trainees will complete a newly approved graduate certificate, participate in workshops on professional development and effecting change, and engage in collaborative peer review.  This talk will explain “what’s in it” for faculty and prospective trainees.
